This "cave pagoda" is astonishing and colourful, says Michelin Travel. It’s “built inside a cavity in a karstic limestone cliff, with steps leading to it,” and houses a statue of Ngoc Hoang, the Jade Emperor of the Taoist religion, as well as a statue of Quan Am. “A gentle, refreshing breeze passes through the cave creating an enchanting musical effect.”
The “echoing tunnels and dark stairs up to small grottos are strangely atmospheric,” writes Travelfish, which adds a “solemnity to the simple shrines.” When you hike up one of the openings you can “enjoy a good view of rice fields and hills of Cambodia.” And because the cavern is sometimes home to a colony of bats, “you decide whether to look directly up.”
