“This 230m-high hill enjoys an unforgettable view of the Mekong Delta region,” says Michelin Travel. From top you can see the “sublime landscape of the surrounding rice fields,” as well as neighbouring Cambodia. Climbing the peak is the “highlight” of a visit to the mountain,” says Travel Vietnam.
There’s a military outpost on the summit, notes Travel Vietnam, “a legacy of the days when the Khmer Rouge utilised this cross-border.” The outpost is still functional “and the soldiers are quite used to tourists taking photos,” but you should ask permission “before taking photos of them or anything that could be considered militarily sensitive.” And make sure you visit the numerous temples and pagodas “dotted around the foot of the mountain,” advises Michelin Travel, “many of which are adorned with attractive statues, such as the Buddha in the Cavern pagoda.”
