In the swim

Melbourne is brimming with pools, from the "healing salt waters" of St Kilda's Sea Baths to the "ironically named" Harold Holt Swim Centre (named after an Australian prime minister who drowned, not in the pool but in the ocean), writes Time Out. They include Fitzroy Pool ("thanks to its big 50-metre heated outdoor swimming pool, lap swimmers can stick to their fitness routines all year round"), St Kilda Sea Baths ("the 25-metre seawater swimming pool is heated, but only uses a small amount of chlorine so you get less of that itchy feeling on your skin once you get out"), Carlton Baths ("sleek and modern, but the vibe still retains some of that old Carlton charm") and the Harold Holt Swim Centre ("both the mosaic tiled indoor 25 metre pool and 50 metre outdoor pool are heated"), all part of Time Out’s pool guide.
